A monorail is a type of train that runs on only one track or rail. The first monorail in the United States was at Disneyland, in California, in 1959. The Seattle Center Monorail opened in 1962, for the World's Fair. It runs for almost a mile, and takes about two minutes between downtown and Seattle Center.
