Some countries still have queens and kings (also known as monarchs), although most of them are no longer the actual rulers of the country. In Europe, countries such as Norway, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom have a queen or king. Queen Elizabeth II was monarch of the United Kingdom (including Great Britain) from 1952 to 2022. Her son Charles became king when she died. Queens is also a neighborhood in New York City.
